Chapter 10 - Time Flies


I don’t have time to work in the pet shop anymore.
I visit them when I can.
I take Mimi with me. Leo thinks
She’s the most important person in my life.
Leo says
Last year I was packing shelves.
I don’t do that anymore.
Customers complained when I shouted at them.

Now I serve on the deli counter.
There’s a glass barrier so customers
can’t touch the food.
I wear plastic gloves and use tongs to pick up food.
I pack customers’ food in plastic boxes with lids.
Different foods go in separate boxes.
I tell customers ”Have a nice day.”

I use a scale to weigh food and a calculator to
work out the price.
I’m careful and accurate.
My boss says I’m doing very well.
