Chapter 5 - I Wish

Fabio says
Go away. I’m busy.

Alice says
I’m the only child in this family.
The adults don’t take me seriously.
It’s very frustrating.
The people who live here

Alice talks about the members of her family.

Alice says
Dad is 48. That’s very old.
Mum is 46. That’s not as old as dad but still old.
Who will look after me if they die?

Dad’s name is Vincent. Dad is a carpenter.
He is clever at making things with wood. He works hard.
He’s tired when he comes home from work.

Mum’s name is Dolores. Mum is a nurse.
She works in a hospital.
Sometimes mum works all night.
When mum works all night, she’s so tired she can hardly speak.
